Our church is led by a team of elders who work alongside a team of pastors, small group leaders, and many, many other ministry leaders.

“I am continually amazed at what God can do in our lives as we commit ourselves to pursuing his purposes. That is the most compelling reality that energizes me in the work of ministry. There is nothing more exciting than being part of the journey of faith, hope and love in the lives of people through Southwest Community Church.”

I have been at Southwest since February of 2014. I served as a lead pastor at two great churches in Illinois since 1997 before coming to Southwest.  My wife, Lori works for the State of Illinois, and we have three sons at home: Austin, Tyler, and Bryant.  I love preaching, teaching, and getting to know the stories of people.  Education is a particular passion of mine, having completed degrees in ministry and theology from Central Bible College and Lincoln Christian Seminary. On top of that, I am currently working on a final doctoral degree in theology from Evangel University.

"I have no greater joy than seeing a life transformed by the power of God through His Word and through worship. I am beyond grateful, and humbled that God has called me and is allowing me to use the gifts He has given me to advance His kingdom."

I was born in Joliet, Illinois, and grew up in Romeoville. I graduated High School from Bible Baptist Christian Academy in 2002. Calvary church was my home church since birth, and served in the music ministry there since I was 15.  I got married at the age of 20 to my beautiful wife, Megan, and have been happily married ever since. Our daughter Tessa was born in May 2009. She is a miracle to us and we are so thankful to be her parents. I’m definitely a family man, and my heart’s desire is to be a Godly husband and dad. I enjoy getting to know people, and love encouraging others in their own gifts and talents. I work as a Custom Sheet Metal Fabricator and Machine Operator as my day-to-day, and as a Worship Pastor by calling. My greatest passion is to lead worship and bring others into God’s presence through song.

"I really just enjoy being with people. I find other people’s passions become my passions, and I want to see God work in all of them. If you want to be the best underwater basket-weaver for the Kingdom, then be the best Jesus-lovin' one you can be!”

I was born in Aurora, IL and grew up in Chicagoland area. After graduating in 2012 from Plainfield Central High School, I decided to pursue God's ministry calling on my life at Evangel University. I’m a recent graduate of Evangel, with a Bachelor's in Biblical Studies and a minor in Communication Studies. In May 2017, I married the love of my life Mariah. She is an amazing woman of God with a heart for kids. We love living life together in pursuit of Jesus. I love people, coffee, avocados, Star Wars, outdoors, movies, music, video games, comics, board games, and just about anything you can think of. I absolutely love meeting for coffee and a good conversation.  My passion is people, and equipping them for the Kingdom's work.

We are very blessed to be a part of this amazing church. Laura and I look forward to seeing what the Lord has in store for the Children’s department., Pray for us as we work diligently to share Christ’s love with each and every child . Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.

I’m the newest member of the Southwest Staff. I currently work as the Children’s Pastor here! Me and my wife Laura have enjoyed 19 years of marriage and home school our only son, Sam, who is 17 years old. Laura has taught at Romeoville High School for 25 years in the Science department. Prior to coming on staff here at Southwest, I worked as the Community Pastor for a church in Morris, IL. I proudly graduated from Teen Challenge in 1999 and have been pursuing God’s calling on my life ever since.

"I am excited to see the plans God has for my husband and me as we enter the "Empty Nest" stage of our marriage. We are continually searching for ways to serve others as a way to demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ."

I joined Southwest Community Church's staff in June 2015.  I grew up in Oak Forest, IL and graduated from Lewis University with degrees in Human Resource Management and Psychology.  I have worked in management for Jewel Food Stores, in Industrial Relations for ComEd, and after staying home for a while to raise my children, I most recently left my job in Special Education at Troy Middle School to join Southwest. Me and my husband, Mike, have been married for 30 years and have three grown children, one son-in-law, and a grandson; Haley (David & Camden Payne), Benjamin and Jillian.  Mike and I enjoy gardening, antiquing, and have a heart for service to others.
