Our church is led by a team of elders who work alongside a team of pastors, small group leaders, and many, many other ministry leaders. Our pastors are responsible to equip, empower, and lead the members of our church in the fulfillment of our mission – to help people become followers of Christ. Helping them to worship God, embrace people, discover their gifts, and share their lives.

Pastor John was born in Aurora, IL and grew up in Chicagoland area. After graduating in 2012 from Plainfield Central High School, he decided to pursue God's ministry calling on his life in a Christian college. He is a recent graduate of Evangel University, with a Bachelor's in Biblical Studies and a minor in Communication Studies. John loves people, Star Wars, outdoors, movies, music, video games, comics, TV shows, and just about anything you can think of. He loves when people invite him for dinner and feed him, *wink wink* *nudge nudge* and he loves a good conversation. His passion is people and equipping them for the Kingdom's work.
I really just enjoy being with people. I find other people’s passions become my passions, and I want to see God work in all of them. If you want to be the best underwater basket-weaver for the Kingdom, then be the best one you can be in Christ!”
Christine joined Southwest Community Church's staff in June 2015. She grew up in Oak Forest, IL and graduated from Lewis University with degrees in Human Resource Management and Psychology. Christine has worked in management for Jewel Food Stores, in Industrial Relations for ComEd, and after staying home for a while to raise her children, she most recently left her job in Special Education at Troy Middle School to join Southwest. Christine and her husband, Mike, have been married for 29 years and have three grown children and one son-in-law; Haley (& David Payne), Benjamin and Jillian. Mike and Christine enjoy gardening and have a heart for service to others.
I am excited to see the plans God has for my husband and me as we enter the Empty Nest stage of our marriage. We are continually searching for ways to serve others as a way to demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ.
